Today we are taking a look at the CZ 75 Compact. The CZ Compact is a double stack, single/double action, steel framed handgun that sports a 15+1 capacity. The barrel comes in at 3.75 inches, the firearm has an overall length of 7.3 inches, and is a bit heavy at close to 2 lbs. The high beaver tail and grip texture provide a very comfortable shooting experience. With the hammer down the double action pull is roughly 11 pounds. With the hammer back the single action pull weight is roughly 5 pounds. There is some travel in the trigger when in single action, but it is still a great trigger. The slide rides inside the frame, this coupled with the weight of the gun provides negligible recoil. I wasn’t crazy about the 3 dot sights on this gun. In my opinion the sight picture could be a little better, but the overall shooting experience was great. This gun is extremely accurate out of the box and I had no issues running aluminum or steel casings through it. This gun ate everything that I fed it without hesitation. The overall quality and dependability of this gun deserves the highest marks. If you are in the market for a compact firearm and you are not a fan of polymer frames, than this gun is probably right for you. I personally feel that the weight of this gun makes it unideal for concealed carry, but that is just a personal opinion. Overall, it is a well crafted and dependable firearm. It’s not the most budget friendly, this firearm generally runs $600+. However, you are definitely getting your money’s worth with this platform.
